Interim report on origin of food bill
Primary Production Committee publishes interim report on the Consumers’ Right to Know (Origin of Food) Bill
The Primary Production Committee has today published its interim report on the Consumers’ Right to Know (Country of Origin of Food) Bill. The report was presented to provide an update on the proposed recommendations for amendment to the bill and seek feedback from submitters on the changes.
The interim report contains a summary document which sets out the types of food covered, who the requirements would apply to, the information that would need to be disclosed, and the timeframe for the requirements to take effect. It also includes a document containing the proposed amendments to the bill.
Submitters are encouraged to send feedback on the proposed changes by midnight on Wednesday 1 August 2018.
