Libertarianz Call for Gun Registration Boycott

Libertarianz today called on all firearm owners to boycott registration of their firearms under proposed new laws. “If they wish to continue to be able to defend themselves and their loved ones,” said a Libertarianz spokesman, they should realise that gun registration is a dangerous move towards making such self defence impossible”. In an oral submission to the Law and Order Select Committee today, a Libertarianz spokesman made the following points:

1. Firearm registration neither reduces nor solves crime. In fact overseas’ evidence suggests the reverse.
2. Registration provides an instant confiscation list – one which Alliance & Labour politicians have already indicated they will use to confiscate firearms of lawful citizens.
3. While many innocent sheeple will no doubt be persuaded to surrender their weapons, they should realise that not a single criminal will be doing likewise. Instead, criminal involvement will be encouraged in the greatly expanded black and grey markets for these – now highly valued - unlicensed weapons.
4. There will be NO buy back of weapons. This government is already spending too much of our money on beneficiaries to be able to fund this.
5. Australian evidence has shown that – even if it were affordable – a buy back RAISES armed crime rather than reduces it.
6. Despite Hard Labour/Alliance Retard claims that registration will cost $25 Million, overseas experience shows that Registration will actually cost at least 10 times that.
7. Registration in most jurisdictions is quickly followed by confiscation. This of course is quickly followed by a huge increase in violent crime as criminals realise victims can’t defend themselves. Note for example the tripling in the Murder rate in Victoria since firearms confiscation commenced. Britain, with gun laws similar to Nazi Germany, now has the highest rate of violent crime in the western world!
8. Since the last firearms licensing fiasco 500,000 firearms have already ‘disappeared’. How many do these politicians seriously believe will be surrendered under their proposed new laws?
9. Justice Thorp’s report – which powered all this authoritarian nonsense – was far from independent as claimed by its sponsoring politicians. Thorp had previously attended United Nations workshops on disarmament of private citizens.

All would do well to heed the following quotation: “With firearm registration, for the first time in history a civilised nation can ensure public safety.” The author of that line? .Adolf Hitler, in 1935!
