Tax Review Team 'Establishment Collaborators'
Tax Review Team Labelled 'Establishment Collaborators'
"Tax Review 2001 is a waste of a million dollars and should be aborted," said Libertarianz deputy leader Richard McGrath. "Taxpayers are forced to pay these government stooges a thousand dollars a day, each, so that they can devise new ways of seizing their money and assets."
"The terms of reference for this review imply that the taxation system is already being used as a social engineering tool, and a means to close the envy gap between those who earn wealth and those who want to take it off them," he added.
"To consider taxing financial transactions, capital gain and wealth itself is to seriously penalise vountarily trade and productive effort, and to discourage financial self-sufficiency," McGrath said.
"The most revolting insult from the terms of reference is the suggestion that the tax system 'should not undermine social cohesion.' Can I ask what the tax system did for the social cohesion of the Mutton family?" asked Dr McGrath. "The IRD drove Ian Mutton to bankruptcy and suicide and his young son also, tragically, took his own life as a result."
The Libertarianz spokesman has some free advice for the 'gang of five' from Tax review 2001. "If there is a shred of humanity left in any of you, recommend that the IRD be eviscerated and its senior staff be made to atone for the atrocities their department committed during its reign of terror."
