Confronting Waitangi Racism. Head on.

Feb 5, 2002

Most New Zealanders see Waitangi Day as just another summer holiday - or perhaps just a day to whinge impotently at the state-sponsored racism in which the country is awash. For a brave band of Libertarianz members and supporters, however, Waitangi Day 2002 shall be far from a day at the beach.

For Tim Wikiriwhi (Libertarianz spokesman for the deregulation of Maori affairs) and "Hooch" Helen Hughes (Libertarianz Candidate for Whangarei) Waitangi Day 2002 will see them leading a group of kiwis up to the treaty grounds to publicly express their condemnation of the present racist New Zealand state, built upon the corrupt principles of apartheid.

Though they expect to be greatly outnumbered by Maori radicals who advocate Treaty Separatism - and who are funded by the state to do so - these hardy libertartian souls intend to peacefully call for the abolition of the 'brown gravy train.' Mr. Wikiriwhi says: "This is a scary proposition to undertake, but we are determined to voice our condemnation of Waitangi treatyism which is racially segregating our nation".

Wikiriwhi says his group can be identified by the banner they intend to carry on to the Treaty grounds - 'End Waitangi Apartheid' - where they will symbolically burn a copy of the treaty, and deliver speeches highlighting the grievous evils of racial separatism. "We shall advocate, not only the abolition of the treaty and the Waitangi tribunal, but also the abolition of all race-based legislation and state institutions - including the separatist Maori seats in parliament," he says.

He maintains the treaty should have been shelved over a century ago after fulfilling it's intended purpose, but because successive weak and corrupt politicians have played up to unscrupulous Maori leaders it has been used to manipulate the Maori people like pawns in a perverse game - the prize being political power and money, and at great social cost to our nation.

"We wish to set All New Zealanders free from this scam, including Maori," says Wikiriwhi. "It must end now, before New Zealand is in the grip of violent racial upheaval'.

Continuing, Mr. Wikiriwhi says: "There is nothing that can justify an apartheid system of government. No matter how sacred this document is supposed to be, or what evils are imagined to have occurred over 100 years ago. It has become the greatest burden upon race relations between the various peoples of New Zealand, that only It's abolition can begin to close and heal this growing racism which it now has come to symbolise.

Wikiriwhi declares: "There exist no grounds that can rightly violate the just political principle of equality?" If you agree with us, Please join us in calling for the end of Waitangi apartheid.

It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!
