New Zealand Post's Electoral Enrolment Centre (EEC) said today that the delivery of enrolment update packs to registered electors for this year's general election is now complete.

EEC National Manager Murray Wicks said that anyone who hasn't received an enrolment update pack by now are either not enrolled or their details are out of date. If this is the case, they need to fill in a new enrolment form to be able to vote.

Enrolment forms are available from PostShops, by calling 0800 ENROL NOW (0800 36 76 56) or from the elections website www.elections.org.nz. Eligible electors can also check and update their enrolment details, and enrol online.

"Electors who have received an enrolment update pack should now check their personal enrolment details and where changes are required, make the changes and post the form back.

"If you have received an enrolment update pack for someone no longer at the address shown, we urge you to forward the envelope on or mark it 'Gone - no address' and return it. That elector's name will then be removed from the roll.

Enrolment information is available in a number of languages and can be obtained from the elections website www.elections.org.nz or by calling 0800 ENROL NOW (0800 36 76 56).

Mr Wicks stresses that the last day for people to make changes or enrol for the preliminary electoral roll is Friday 21 June. "The deadline for the preliminary roll is approaching so we urge all eligible electors to update their details or enrol before 21 June. It's important that you enrol because it gives you a chance to have your say in the general election."
