Tabled Documents Part Of Ernst & Young Review

22 May 2002

The Chairman of the Maori Television Service, Derek Fox, today clarified issues relating to the tabling in Parliament of documents associated with MTS’s contract with executive recruitment firm, Millenium People.

Mr Fox said the documents tabled in parliament today were among a number of documents provided by the board to Ernst & Young, for the review the accounting firm carried out on the contract MTS entered into with Millenium People.

The review by Ernst & Young, also known as Report No. 2, provides a formal legal opinion relating to the appointment process for the CEO Mr Fox said.

“It takes into account the documents released in Parliament today.

“The board received the report last week. It includes options available to the board arising from the use of Millenium People to recruit executives. One of these options has been actioned and is currently with the MTS board’s legal advisers.

“This a matter between the board and Millenium People and until such time that it is brought to a conclusion, the board will make no further comment,” said Mr Fox.
