National’s Socialists Resurrect Muldoon
“I hear Rob Muldoon laughing”is how Libertarianz Spokesman on the Deregulation of Commerce Scott Wilson described National’s Economic and Regional Development policy today.
“In proposing to keep Jim Anderton’s bureaucratic behemoth, the Ministry of Economic Development, and renaming it for show, National demonstrates how it cravenly pays lip service to capitalism by reverting to the policies of Muldoon” he declared.
“Why should taypayers, including businesses that sustain themselves in spite of the state, have part of their income confiscated in tax in order to support businesses that others wont fund voluntarily? This sort of “crony capitalism” where the state picks “winners” by throwing other people’s money at them, is disgusting and parasitical putting the National Party firmly in bed with Jim Anderton” warned Wilson, reminding the National Party that it opposed these policies when Anderton introduced them.
“Libertarianz would abolish the Ministry of Economic Development and end all state subsidies to businesses of all kinds as soon as possible, and tell business to stand up on its own feet.” said Wilson, outlining the Libertarianz Commerce Policy.
“Of course, business will be allowed to thrive and prosper under Libertarianz policy, as we will be moving to abolish all taxes except income and company tax in the shortest practicable timeframe, with company tax reduced to 15% in the first term. This more than anything will attract foreign investment, allow businesses to grow with their own money and get meddling bureaucratic and parasitical politicians out of the way of commerce, and out of the backpockets of the productive" Wilson concluded.
