The timing of each release date is consistent with the requirements of the Public Finance Act. The Act requires each set of statements (except November and December) to be released no later than six weeks after the end of the month to which it relates. The statements for November and December are required to be released no later than 31 January (for November) and 28 February (for December) in the following year.
The Public Finance Act does not require financial statements for the period ended 31 May. However, in the interest of providing a complete track of the results across the year, a set of statements will be published.
The Crown Financial Statements for the year ended 30 June are required to be tabled in the House of Representatives prior to publication. The timetable of the House of Representatives for 2003 has not yet been set. However, the tabling dates can be no later than the sixth sitting day in October. In the event that the House is not sitting, the June statements must be published no later than 21 October.
The Crown Financial Statements will be
prepared on a full line by line consolidation basis from 30
September 2002.
