Queen's Golden Jubilee Parade in Auckland Oct 18

There will be a parade in Auckland on 18 October to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

The service participants, members of the Royal New Zealand Navy, Royal New Zealand Air Force, New Zealand Army, and New Zealand Police, will fall in at Queen Elizabeth Square at 1100, and march off up Queen Street at 1200. The invited guests are to be seated outside the Town Hall at 1210. The official party (the Governor-General, the Mayor of Auckland, and service heads) will arrive at the dais at 1229, just after the parade arrives. There is a royal salute and fly past (two Hercules aircraft) at 1230. After brief speeches there will be a march past up Mayoral Drive. The service bands will be playing in Aotea Square afterwards.

The parade will proceed as programmed in the event of bad weather.

Members of the public in Auckland on Friday, and those who can come into the city on the day, are encouraged to watch this parade.
