GPJA Antiwar Protest This Saturday Dec 14
Protest To Deliver Xmas Peace Message To Bush
“It is becoming clearer by the day that the US/UK axis is preparing for war regardless of the results of the UN inspections in Iraq,” said Global Peace and Justice Auckland spokesperson Mike Treen.
“Bush and Blair have been desperately seeking any excuse to justify an attack and we can expect one to be manufactured in due course. This makes the planned protest outside the US consulate this Saturday both timely and urgent.
“The NZ government continues to play a double game by deepening the involvement of the NZ military in the so-called ‘war on terror’ while also claiming it has no connection to the planned assault on Iraq. This is no longer a credible position to take.
“The protest will assemble at QEII
Square, Downtown, at 11am before moving over to the US
Consulate on Customs Street. It’s our chance to give Bush a
Christmas message of ‘Give Peace a Chance’”
