New spokespersons team and Deputy Leader announced
“The new spokesperson team announced today shows that the disappointing results in last years election have only made the CHP more determined than ever to make positive progress in the future,” said Party Leader Graham Capill.
“The new Deputy Leader, Mr Vic Pollard, is a well known New Zealander, not only representing our country in both cricket and soccer, but is also a respected educator and Deputy Principal at Middleton Grange School in Christchurch.
“We are privileged to have a man of his calibre appointed to this position and I look forward to his input and assistance in the next six months,” continued Mr Capill.
“We welcome also Ewen McQueen back to the team. He had stepped down due to sickness after the 1999 election and will now take responsibility for the family portfolio, as well as matters affecting the economy.
“The rest of the team are continuing as before the election, although there has been a reshuffle of portfolios. All have extensive experience, politically, and are well able to address issues across all the aspects of government.
“The team will continue up until the special convention to be held in Nelson in August, at which time a new Leader will be voted in and he or she will reappoint all positions as per the Party’s constitution,” concluded Mr Capill.
