Water Scab Gets Priority Over Crime

Libertarianz Deputy Leader Stephen Berry has found a new way for the police to crack down on burglaries and violent crime. "Stop wasting money on conferences with scabs, he says!" His comments follow revelations that two veteran activists - Lisa 'someone else pay for the hero parade' Prager and Penny 'someone else pay for my water' Bright - led five 'workshops on protesting' at which 200 police were harangued by the two women.

The workshops were arranged by Inspector Rob Marshall, and enthusiastically supported by Auckland Central Inspector Derek Davison, who okayed the release of the 200 policemen for the sessions. Says Berry, "It is an abhorrent situation when the police force is unable to protect people's rights because they have been holed up in a room listening to two women explaining how to violate people's rights," Berry said, adding "Even as policemen cry out or more resources to keep up with the rise in crime, three hundred police hours have been wasted to give these two women a forum for their poisonous, leeching ideas."

"Lively crosstalk" reportedly ensued, gushes Protestor Bright. "We had one lively debate where we were challenged: Why do you protest? And we were able to talk about how women now have the vote, how New Zealand is nuclear-free and Auckland's water is not yet privatised." Berry suggests that New Zealanders familiar with the Water Pressure Group will be aware that Penny Bright and her 'scab brigade' make no differentation between respecting individual rights and protest. "Examples would be the smashing of a window on late councillor Phil Raffil's property, and the fire-hosing of the Bolivian embassy in Auckland. Bright would call this freedom of expression; I would call it a violation of private property rights."

"Taxpayers should be as disgusted as I am at the waste of police labour as burglaries and violent crimes continue to rise, Berry says. "Bright may be pleased with herself, but she has never had a concern at wasting other people's money." Bright reported that her and Prager received an ovation at the end of their last workshop session. Stephen Berry says "I would have applauded too, if it meant keeping them quiet for ten seconds."
