New Zealand Troops Must Come Home Now!
Global Peace and Justice Auckland is renewing its call for New Zealand troops to be immediately withdrawn from the war in Iraq.
This follows media reports this morning that New Zealand troops in Iraq are doing very little humanitarian work but are embedded with the US/UK occupation forces following their illegal and immoral invasion earlier this year.
While the public have been told the role of our soldiers was to support humanitarian efforts in the rebuilding of Iraq - this is now exposed as a thinly disguised lie.
The 61 New Zealand engineers are working alongside British troops to erect defences for the army of occupation. They are repairing British military equipment and assisting with the day to day running of the occupation.
Having opposed the initial invasion the Clark government was quick to put New Zealand lives at risk to curry favour with the warmongers.
New Zealand troops have joined the invasion forces of the US/UK and they are seen as part of the foreign occupation of Iraq by the growing Iraqi resistance movement.
We have joined the war criminals…
The guerrilla war which began the day the US declared victory has already killed dozens of US/UK troops and it is growing in strength and boldness by the day.
Just as in Vietnam, New Zealanders are in a war of liberation on the wrong side of the battlefield.
