Greencross Supports No Conviction For Medical Marijuana Patient
GreenCross Medicinal Cannabis Support Group Inc. is pleased to see that Judges now accept a degree of medical defense for the cultivation of cannabis as evidenced by the recent prosecution of a Christchurch businessman caught with a high tech computer controlled hydroponic grow operation.
GreenCross coordinator Greg Soar believes that apart from the medical evidence that was part of the Judges reasoning was the fact other people relied upon Mr. Jackson for employment and that hardship would be caused if the company was to fail.
"It surely must therefore go without saying that a person who faces death from cancer, AIDS or some other ailment would be discharged without conviction on the grounds that to die or live a diminished quality of life would be a hardship even more so than people losing jobs or income" said Mr. Soar.
GreenCross applauds the decision not to convict Mr. Jackson and hope that those with genuine medical need are now to be treated in the same manner as Mr. Jackson.
Will Mr. Leo Danger and Mr. Neville Yates, who
currently face prosecution for medicinal cannabis offences,
be afforded the same compassion as Mr. Jackson or will we
see a division between the rich and the poor?
