ACC gets top recognition
ACC's dedication to continuous improvement has been recognised for a third time in as many weeks with a coveted Achievement Award (962053)ilver level in the prestigious New Zealand Business Excellence Awards programme.
Only five other New Zealand organisations have previously reached this level against the globally recognised Baldrige scale which benchmarks business performance against the world's best.
ACC Chief Executive Garry Wilson said the award positioned ACC at a standard four-times better than the New Zealand average.
"It is particularly heartening as ACC was scrutinised for a week by a team of eight experienced evaluators," he said.
"They admitted to some preconceptions about ACC, but left surprised about the realities and the excellence of the work being done."
The team from the New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation gave ACC the highest points of any organisation reviewed in the last four years.
ACC was also recognised at the Australian Risk Management Insurance Association Conference in Hobart where it was not only the winner among three finalists in the corporate governance and compliance category, but ended up taking the Supreme Award.
"It was pleasing that a New Zealand organisation took the top award, and even more so that it was ACC," said Mr Wilson.
Two weeks ago, ACC was also given an "A" rating by independent Australian based social responsibility rating organisation Reputex.
