What’s Up Seeks New Sponsor
What’s Up, the children’s telephone counselling service, 0800 942 8787, is seeking a new corporate sponsor. This is due to the fact that one of its present sponsors has decided to take a different emphasis in terms of their community commitments, says Grant Taylor, Executive Director, What’s Up.
“What’s Up has been associated with Kellogg since our organisation was set up,” he says. Kellogg was one of four founding sponsors who were instrumental in ensuring our service could get off the ground.
“During the last four years, we have had a rewarding relationship with Kellogg not only in terms of their sponsorship but the commitment of their staff to undertake many activities in their own time,” says Grant Taylor. “Their sponsorship has meant many thousands of calls from young people have been answered and an increased profile and awareness of What’s Up has been achieved.”
“Kellogg has, however, reviewed its sponsorships going forward. As a result they have let us know they will not be renewing their sponsorship of What’s Up. At this stage, they are looking at different ways of meeting community needs.
“Although this is a loss for What’s Up, we do understand that companies need to review their commitments. We have greatly appreciated the Kellogg sponsorship,” says Grant. “We are now looking for a new corporate sponsor to join Griffins and White Pages to ensure we can meet the demand from young people for our services.”
