“Te Mangoroa Representative to deliver large letters to politicians”

Christchurch based group “Te Mangoroa” is commiserating Waitangi Day 2005 by delivering two large letters to local politicians’ offices. On the letters will be comments made by the Labour and National parties’ that are based on a mixture of misinformation and opinion. They will be rebutted by accurate statements. One such example is the now infamous words, “Maori receive preferential treatment”. David Slack’s book “Bullshit, Backlash and Bleeding Hearts”, convincingly refutes all of Brash’s racially held misconceptions.

“2004 was marred by politicians making statements based on evoking xenophobic fear” states Te Mangoroa Co-Spokesperson, Malcolm Mulholland. “It started with Brash at Orewa and was continued by Labour with the appointment of Mallard to the role of Coordinating Minister of Race Relations. The passing of the seabed and foreshore legislation capped a disappointing year for race relations in this country. No longer are citizens of this country willing to allow politicians to make false assumptions in order to win votes”, states Mulholland.

The delivery will be made on Waitangi Day to Mahara Okeroa and Tim Barnett’s office in Worcester St at 12.00. At 1.15 the delivery will be made to Gerry Brownlee’s office on Memorial Ave.
