Destiny NZ Rallies At Blenheim
Destiny NZ leader Richard Lewis presented the party's 'empowering families' message at the Elim Centre in Blenheim last night.
Speaking to an audience of 120 people, as well as outlining the party's dedicated Family and Law & Order Policies, Lewis gave insight into the party's direction.
"Destiny New Zealand's objective is simple - to make New Zealand families the priority of the next government. In saying that, it is pointless making such a statement unless you are able to back it up with a definition of family so you know where you are going. In our case, Destiny New Zealand believes the traditional 'marriage centred family' is the model that government needs to empower through legislation, policies and the message it sends to our communities. Lewis also emphasised that Destiny NZ was committed to sole parent families practically and financially.
Lewis attacked the present government over its intensive social engineering strategies rolled out over the last three years. Examples included redefining the meaning of marriage through same-sex marriage legislation (Civil Union and Relationships Acts), legalised prostitution, dabbling with the lowering of the age of consensual sex to 12, Hate Speech Legislation and the Gender Identity Bill (which aims to give special status to transsexuals and cross dressers).
"Understand that Labour's social engineering agenda will step up to a whole new level if it gets another three years in power. We can no longer leave the future of our families and our children to chance. We must get past any perceptions about Destiny NZ and understand that Destiny NZ is the only political party that has clearly and simply defined the meaning of family and is committed to our nation's traditional family values. Destiny New Zealand is represented by men and women who have been tried and proven in our communities and fully understand the daily challenges our families face", he said.
Tonight Lewis will be in Nelson to support local delegate
Jason Thomson at a public meeting at the Victory Room -
Trafalgar Centre (Off Paru Paru Road) beginning 7.30pm.
