The W((i))ndymedia Collective have been extra busy preparing a series of workshops on independent media making and DIY publishing, and movie screenings throughout the greater Wellington region.

The workshops cover a range of skills which should provide you with all the skills you need to fully utilise one of New Zealand's leading independent news sources www.indymedia.org.nz.
Thursday 21st April / 5th May
7pm - How to post articles and photos to Indymedia
8pm - Writing workshop; Techniques and tips for getting your ideas and concerns across.
Thursday 28th April / 12 May
7pm - Basic HTML coding. Beginners workshop on how to put links in your stories, as well as basic formatting.
8pm - How to get involved with your local Independent Media Collective!

MOVIE SCREENINGS
We have arranged screenings in Wellington, Hutt City, and Porirua. 'Fuck the Corporate Media' is a short documentary produced by Portland Indymedia which analyzes the tactics, both subtle and blatant, employed by the corporate media. The second series of documentaries are from the Oceania Newsreal. Featuring short punchy films from the Asia Pacific including two great documentaries made by New Zealanders 'Whose News?', and 'Happy Birthday Timor Leste'.
