WEL Trust election profiled
Community Radio Hamilton continues to strengthen its reputation as a provider of relevant and topical community information with the upcoming WEL Trust Election Hour show, profiling candidates of the 2005 WEL Energy Trust triennial elections at 8.30am on Tuesday, 7, 14, and 21 June.
The three hour-long shows follow on from the success of Community Radio Hamilton’s coverage of the local body election in 2004, with similar plans to profile the national general election later this year.
“The individuals we choose to represent our community, be it locally or nationally, have an important affect all our lives. We want people to know what the choices are, and be able to make an informed vote,” says Community Radio Hamilton’s general manager Phil Grey.
Louise Upston, an experienced political interviewer and presenter of Community Radio Hamilton’s weekly political programme ‘Left, Right, and Centre’, will host the WEL Trust Election Hour.
Each week, six candidates will have the opportunity to promote their individual or group campaign platform in the lead up to Election Day on Saturday, 25 June. Thirty-nine individuals are vying for just eight available places on the WEL Energy Trust Board.
