Garbage in, Garbage Out
DESTINY NEW ZEALAND POLITICAL PARTY
PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
8 JUNE 2005
"Garbage in, Garbage Out"
Destiny New Zealand candidate for Hutt South, David Knight, outlined the party's Television and Communications Policy at the VoTE forum (Viewers of Television Excellence) held at the Avalon TV Studio's last night.
The party aims to pursue stringent censorship restrictions pertaining to violence and sexually explicit material on all communication mediums.
"Destiny New Zealand is for families, and we are for business - we are for TV, movie theatres, the film industry, DVD retailers and movie renters. But we will not tolerate inappropriate levels of violence, promiscuity and pornography being pitched at, and even promoted to, our children", says Mr Knight.
Mr Knight also fully endorsed VoTE's Adult Only 9:30 campaign and noted that United Future did not have any policy on the issue. "Let's get the free to air watershed to at least 9:30pm", he added.
