London Bombings: MFAT Update 22 At 1715 On 12 July 2005
Of the 2150 on the database, more than 1600 are now accounted for, with enquries still out on just over 500. The number of persons about whom there are serious concerns remains at 1.
The High Commissioner is to sign the Book of Remembrance at City Hall on Tuesday (1930 NZ Time tonight). The London High Commission plans to close its crisis room on Tuesday. This will not affect its enquiry number (+44 20 7930 8422).
The Ministry 0800 number remains in operation (0800 432 111) though an answer service will take messages overnight. The number of new enquiries from people who have been unable to contact directly someone they believed to have been in London at the time has dropped significantly. But we encourage call backs from those who have already reported such a case but have since made contact with that individual.
There is no need to call in about people who have been in touch unless they were previously reported as out of contact.
