AA Safer Roads Project Supports Safety NZ Week
The AA is this week supporting the inaugural Safety NZ Week, which runs from today until August 12th.
Safety NZ Week aims to highlight a variety of safety issues to address the surprisingly high numbers of New Zealanders that are killed or injured annually through accidents at home, work, on the roads or on the sports field. Kiwis are encouraged to learn more about their immediate environment and how to keep themselves safe.
The AA's Safer Roads Project is partnering the Safety NZ Week initiative to draw particular attention to road safety. As part of Safety NZ Week, this Thursday will be especially dedicated to the issue of Road Safety - an important matter for the AA. The AA's Safer Roads Project is a nationwide, community-based project focussed on making New Zealand's roads safer and more 'forgiving'. Our ultimate goal is to have Safer Drivers in Safer Cars on Safer Roads.
The AA is also currently running the AA Safer Roads Design-a-Poster competition which aims to educate young people about road safety issues and is one of the ways intermediate and secondary students can directly involve themselves in Safety NZ Week and the AA Safer Roads Project.
