PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

23 August 2005

Destiny New Zealand to Commemorate 'Enough is Enough'

Today's Nomination Day also marks the one year anniversary of Enough is Enough, last year's mass gathering at parliament grounds upholding traditional family values and the institution of marriage.

Destiny New Zealand leader Richard Lewis says last year's stand at parliament grounds in defence of the institution of marriage and the traditional family is a critical message for this year's election.

"Labour's track record gives us the greatest indication of what we can expect if they achieve another term in power. We're probably one election cycle away from losing our country's traditional founding values forever," he says.

Mr Lewis points to the Civil Union and Relationships Acts, the Prostitution Act and severing ties with the Privy Council as examples of significant political changes under Labour.

This Sunday Mr Lewis will participate in a special anniversary service commemorating last year's Enough is Enough event. The service is being held at Destiny Church Auckland and will feature the Destiny Church kapa haka team, an audio visual of last year's event and a keynote speech by Bishop Brian Tamaki.
