Cheeky chicks billboard up
for grabs
An
eye-catching glamorous billboard featuring four well-known
scantily-clad Kiwi 'chicks' is being auctioned to help New
Zealand's 2.8 million battery hens.
The large 'Chicks Against Chick Cruelty' billboard skin will be auctioned online from 3pm today on TradeMe to raise funds for the animal advocacy organisation SAFE.
The sale of the twelve-metre long, three-metre high billboard coincides with SAFE's national appeal and is part of a campaign launched last December to ban battery cages, says marketing manager Amanda Sorrenson.
For the billboard, Charlotte Dawson, Aja Rock, Nicky Watson and Eva the Bulgarian posed together in fake-feathered bras for celebrity photographer Monty Adams.
"These four sensational and compassionate woman appeared up-front and personal on billboards erected around the country in defence of New Zealand's 2.8 million battery hens. Now we hope the auction will raise cash to continue our work for battery hens," says Ms Sorrenson.
"The billboard's racy appearance will surely entice a diversity of bidders and we hope for a flurry of bidding activity from modern art collectors, wealthy businesspeople or even the local RSA or Hells Angels clubrooms! There is a space on a wall somewhere just begging to be filled with this glamorous billboard. Wherever it goes this stunning billboard will create a talking point, with its striking appearance and challenging message opposing battery hen farming," says Ms Sorrenson.
The billboard is personally signed by each of the four woman. The auction kicks off from 3pm Wednesday 7 December.
