Gay adoption call by the Greens is outrageous

Today’s comments from Green Party spokesperson for children, Metiria Turei, that New Zealand should change its legislation to allow gay couples to adopt children, are outrageous.

“Such comments show that the Green party is more interested in the selfish wants of adults over the genuine needs of children” says Family Life International media spokesperson; Brendan Malone.

“Children are a gift, not a right or a commodity. Ms Turei is completely focussed on the wants of a social minority, over the needs of the children that would be forced into such arrangements.”

“The research clearly shows us that a loving and committed heterosexual marriage the best environment for raising children, if we really care about kiwi kids then why would we advocate anything less?

“On the one hand the Green party claims that it is pro-child with its anti-smacking bill, yet at the same time they are more than happy to condone homosexual parenting which is detrimental to the wellbeing of young people” said Mr Malone.
