Witnesses invite all in five languages

Jehovah's Witnesses in Auckland and Manukau want to present you with an invitation to their annual convention – in five languages.

Over the next three weeks the Witnesses will be calling to extend a personal invitation to the community to attend the 2006 "Deliverance at Hand!" District Convention. In addition to English, the invitations will also be presented in four locally spoken languages - Samoan, Tongan, Chinese, and Korean.
The invitation gives information about the free three-day event being held at TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre - beginning Friday August 25 2006 at 9:30 a.m.

Why the special effort to advertise the convention program this year? The Witnesses believe that only God can bring about the kind of deliverance the world needs, and they would like the public to have the opportunity to hear the message of comfort and hope that the Bible gives in the face of God’s fast approaching day of reckoning.

This campaign is part of a massive volunteer effort to invite people to similar conventions around the world in 2006. New Zealand’s 171 congregations are joining 98,000 around the world to advertise the "Deliverance at Hand!" convention that will be held in 155 countries.

The Witnesses in New Zealand expect a record turnout for the convention, which is one of six to be presented throughout the country.
