Release of draft New Zealand Energy Strategy and discussion papers; reminder of public Q&A sessions on 12 and 13 December
On Monday, 11 December, the Minister of Energy and Minister Responsible for Climate Change Issues, Hon David Parker, is releasing Powering Our Future: The Draft New Zealand Energy Strategy to 2050 and discussion papers on Measures to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions in New Zealand Post-2012 and Transitional Measures: Options to move towards low emissions electricity and stationary energy supply and to facilitate a transition to greenhouse gas pricing in the future. We are pleased to inform you that the relevant documents are now posted at: http://www.climatechange.govt.nz/ and http://www.med.govt.nz .
As indicated in our email on Tuesday, 5 December, Hon David Parker and officials from the Ministry for the Environment and Ministry of Economic Development will hold public Question and Answer sessions on these papers. These sessions will be held in:
Auckland on Tuesday 12th December at the Rendezvous Hotel (Cnr Mayoral Drive and Vincent Street) at 7:30am - 11:00am
Christchurch on Tuesday 12th December at the Christchurch Convention Centre (95 Kilmore Street) at 3:00pm - 5.30pm
Dunedin on Wednesday 13th December at the Hutton Theatre, Otago Museum (419 Great King Street) at 7:30am - 11:00am
Wellington on Wednesday 13th December at the Illot Theatre, Wellington Convention Centre (111 Wakefield Street) at 4:00 - 7:00pm

Please note that a limited number of the discussion papers will be available at the above venues in hard copy. If you are planning on downloading and printing out your own copies, however, we encourage you to bring your copies along to the meeting.
