Media Release – 29 December 2006

New Republican Movement President

The Republican Movement has elected a new President, Lewis Holden, effective from today. He replaces Dave Guerin, who was first elected president in 1996.

“Dave has made an immense contribution to the movement over the last ten years, and we thank him for that. I look forward to carrying the debate forward” said new President Lewis Holden.

“It has been a great pleasure promoting republicanism over the last ten years. I look forward to supporting Lewis as he takes on the lead role,” said previous President Dave Guerin.

Dave Guerin retains a position on the Republican Movement National Council, and will continue to contribute to the republican cause.
