Fun A Feature Of Free Seniors Expos
A free cabaret show will be a major attraction at the inaugural Seniors Lifestyle Expos to be held in Auckland next week.
Popular and energetic entertaining duo Debbie Dorday and Jim Joll will present their Costume and Comedy Show as part of the free expos.
The expos, to be held at Mt Albert and Orewa are hosted by seniors specialists, New Zealand Seniors Card. The expos will bring together under one roof a range of businesses, community groups and agencies to help Auckland’s over-55’s plan for their future.
Chris Herron, Director of New Zealand Seniors Card, says the cabaret show is a bonus for those attending the expo.
“It will be the ultimate day of entertainment and information. Debbie Dorday and Jim Joll are renowned for their polished shows full of sparkle, songs and laughs.
“The expos offer people the unique opportunity to experience one of the country’s funniest and most popular variety performances for free.
Mr Herron says the 2007 Seniors Lifestyle Expos will provide retirees, as well as those considering retirement, with advice on a wide range of topics affecting them.
“The Seniors Lifestyle Expos will offer essential advice on investing, finances, travel, health, safety, accommodation options, support services and lifestyle alternatives.
“The expos are FREE for everyone to attend – seniors, their friends, families and carers. Seniors social and sporting groups are more than welcome to attend and can be accommodated with ease.
“Our aim is to arm seniors and pre-retirees with all of the information they need to live an active, secure, fun and fulfilling future.”
The Auckland 2007 Seniors Lifestyle Expos will be held at Mt Albert War Memorial Hall on Friday 23rd February and Centrestage, Orewa on Saturday 24th February. Both expos run from 9.30am – 2.30pm on, with the Debbie Dorday and Jim Joll Costume and Comedy concert getting underway at 1pm. Entry to the expo and concert is free and bookings are not required. The expo will also feature competitions, seminars, lucky door prizes and free tea and coffee.
Mr Herron says it’s not too late for exhibitors to become involved with the event.
“For organisations wanting a willing and enthusiastic audience there will be no better place to be. Over 35,000 NZSC members are already aware of the Seniors Lifestyle Expos. We don’t need to remind anyone that seniors are a major force in the marketplace.
“We invite Auckland seniors to come along and have a great free day out,” Mr Herron said.
