NZ Actors Equity are supportive of local actors suing New Line for merchandising money from Lord of the Rings, Two Towers & Return of the King.
Bruce Hopkins who played Gamling in the movie trilogy who is part of the Actors Equity Performers Commmittee is grateful for the support from his Union.
"It's time for NZ performers to stand up and be treated with the respect we deserve."
"In such a typical David & Goliath scenario it is important that we provide support for our local performers at a local level and international level through the international links we share with other performers Unions" said Teresa Brown, Union Organiser for NZ Actors Equity.
"There is no guarentee of a positive legal outcome but by standing together we can ensure the issue is dealt with in a fair and proper manner".
