Women's Delegation From China Visit New Zealand
The National Council of Women of New Zealand (NCWNZ) is delighted to host a delegation from the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) during their three-day visit to New Zealand.
"We are honoured to again met with our friends of the ACWF to further strengthen the ties NCWNZ has at the international level," said Christine Low, National President NCWNZ.
Earlier today the delegation met with the Mayor of Wellington, Kerry Prendergast. The delegation also met with Dr Rajen Prasad, Commissioner, Sharon Cole, Deputy Commissioner, Paul Currie, CEO, Jo Cribb, Policy Research Manager of the Families Commission, and Sonya Rimene, Ministry of Women's Affairs and the New Zealand China Friendship Association.
The delegation has appointments with Zhang Yuanyuan, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to New Zealand, and the Hon Lianne Dalziel, Minister of Women's Affairs.
The delegation will be hosted at a function at Parliament by Dr Jackie Blue – National Party spokesperson for Women's Affairs, with other attending MPs, including Anne Tolley, Chief Whip, John Hayes, Tim Groser, Dr Richard Worth OBE and Pansy Wong.

Huang Qingyi, Vice President, ACWF, Ms. Zou Xiaoqiao, Director-General, International Department, ACWF, Ms. Zhao Donghua, President, Guangdong Provincial Women's Federation, Ms. Cui Linlin, Division Director, International Department, Ms. Xu Xu, Deputy Division Director, General Office, and Ms. An Weiwei, staff and interpreter, International Department.
The ACWF was founded on April 3, 1949 and is a member of the National Working Committee on Women and Children under the State Council. ACWF enjoys Consultative Status with ECOSOC of the United Nations.
The Federation's mission is to represent and protect women's rights and interests, and to promote equality between men and women.
ACWF is a multi-tiered organisation with local women's federations and group members at every divisional level of government.
Also included in the structure are women workers' committees of trade unions. The Federation has four million members.
