Wayne Walden honoured in New Zealand
Order of Merit
Foundation for Youth Development would like to extend its congratulations to Wayne Walden, on being appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and the community.
Mr. Walden has showed a longstanding commitment and support to Foundation for Youth Development from the very first days when the organisation was founded. He was founding chairman of the Project K youth development programme and is chairman of the Youth Development Endowment Trust.
With an extensive experience in the New Zealand retail and wholesale sectors including former Managing Director of Farmers-Deka Ltd, former director of Tranz Rail, Deputy Chairman of Meat New Zealand, a Director of Mighty River Power Limited and his significant role in successfully launching Maori TV Mr. Walden is a man of many skills and talents.
Founded in 1994 by Graeme Dingle and Jo-anne Wilkinson, the not-for-profit organisation Foundation for Youth Development is a leader in the field of youth development. FYD provides young people from age 5 to 18 with the opportunity to build self-confidence, and learn valuable life skills by participating in unique development programmes. Current programmes include Kiwi Can, Stars and Project K.
