EPMU members reject Air Nelson offer

Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union members at Air Nelson will begin four days of full strike action on Wednesday after members voted this evening to reject the company’s latest pay offer.

The vote follows talks between the EPMU and Air Nelson on Monday aimed at ending the month-long dispute.

The full strike action will involve Air Nelson engineers and flight support staff, and is scheduled to run from 6pm on Wednesday until 6am on Sunday.

This follows the Employment Court's decision on Friday to grant an injunction preventing Air Nelson from using Air New Zealand managers and employees to load aircraft and perform other tasks that would normally be done by striking workers.

Air Nelson is a fully owned subsidiary of Air New Zealand and connects most of New Zealand’s regional centres with its main cities.
