Nokia and Trelise Cooper reunite for the Breast Cancer Research Trust
Nokia has teamed up with Trelise Cooper to
launch a limited edition champagne Nokia 6085 handset,
designed to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research
Trust.
The new champagne Nokia 6085 will come packaged with a phone purse exclusively designed by Trelise Cooper. A contribution from the sale of each handset package will be donated by Nokia to the Trust to fund on-going research into finding a cure for breast cancer.
Following the unprecedented success of a similar campaign last year, Nokia is aiming to exceed the $100,000 raised in 2006 to support the Trust’s mission.
Alison Taylor, Chairperson of the Breast Cancer Research Trust, is thrilled that Nokia has decided to undertake the fundraising venture for a second year.
“Breast cancer is the most common cancer-related
cause of death among women in New Zealand,” says Ms
Taylor.
“The money raised last year by Nokia has
played an important role in helping fund several major
research projects being led by world class researchers, in
partnerships with Auckland University, Otago University,
Industrial Research Ltd and the Liggins Institute,
Auckland,” she adds.
Lane Stephens, of Nokia NZ, says
he hopes the chic design of the Nokia 6085 combined with the
exclusive Trelise Cooper accessory will help exceed the
success of 2006.
“A lot of thought has gone into the selection of the phone,” says Mr Stephens. “The champagne colour has been chosen not only to resonate with our customers, but to celebrate the great strides forward The Breast Cancer Research Trust is making.”
“Nokia is just proud to be part of that,” he adds.
To ensure the phone is the absolute “must-have”, Trelise Cooper has designed a phone purse exclusive to the champagne Nokia 6085.
“The Breast Cancer Research Trust is an organisation that should be close to every woman’s heart,” said Trelise Cooper, who recently became the Trust’s Patron.
The limited edition champagne Nokia 6085 can be purchased from early October. However, pre-orders will be taken from September at participating Vodafone authorised dealers, including Vodafone, First Mobile, Digital Mobile, Noel Leeming, Bond and Bond, Dick Smith Electronics and Harvey Norman.
The simple, yet elegant, phone folds into a compact and sophisticated form, and has an integrated camera, large colour display, sculpted keypad as well as an FM radio. The phone has an RRP of $249, and $20 from each sale will be donated directly to The Breast Cancer Research Trust.
