SOLO Press Release

Thursday Sept 6, 2007

For Immediate Release

Back Off!

"I wish to deliver a message to the present and future governments of New Zealand. Back off! You have gone too far and you are going too far," says SOLO (Sense of Life Objectivists) spokesman Lance Davey.

"You have taken away and you are taking away, inch by inch, the personal freedoms of New Zealand citizens. The current Resource Management Act took away the rights of property owners to enjoy and use their property as they saw fit. The proposed Electoral Finance Bill seeks to stifle freedom of expression. Current and future health legislation seeks to tell us what we may, may not, should, shouldn't and MUST put in our bodies. Back off!

"To the present government I say: your time is up. At next election you will be gone. Your reputation is in the gutter and your dignity is in tatters. At least have the decency to leave quietly and get out of our lives. To the future government I say this: I will not stand idly by and watch as the state seeks to destroy liberty. I will not tolerate the violation of the rights of the individual. I ask you to work to repeal laws that violate our freedom, not implement them. Should you fail in your duty as a government to protect the rights and freedoms of New Zealand citizens, I and every other freedom loving person in this country will rise up and deal to you as this government will be dealt to."
