Grey Power Concerned By emmissions Policy

Grey Power National President, Mr Graham Stairmand stated today "Grey Power are very concerned that the government's policy on carbon emissions will tend to overall increase costs. There is comment that lower income people will be compensated, but we have severe reservations whether this will apply to the elderly superannuitants who are already having to cope with the predicted price rises for fuel and foodstuffs."

"If the government intends to follow this course of action, thereby raising the cost of living to all the populace as well as the elderly, then they should consider 6 monthly adjustments to New Zealand Superannuation, together with a general increase, to offset this government induced price increase."
