The Interests of 'Truth' and not Justice

Mr Wayne Butler as Editor of Truth has identified himself as the person responsible for making the decision to name the Christchurch Police Officer involved in the recent fatal shooting, but still has no satisfactory explanation for his actions, says Republicans Police spokesman Bevan Berg.

In explanation Mr Butler says

"Our decision to name the police officer (in) this issue was partly based on the fact that it was "a public act in a public place by a public officer".

What Mr Butler has conveniently left out was that the officer was "acting in the public interest." Somehow Mr Butler has reconciled that there is an undisclosed part of his decision, which he is not prepared to share with us that places his actions in a "public interest" above that of the officer involved who faces an investigation into his actions.

To date this is a very lame explanation for what is claimed not to be a commercial decision, and "in the public interest."

One might say in the Interests of 'Truth' and not Justice.
