Home-grown Terrorism

Press Release
For immediate release.

Home-grown Terrorism.

The recent arrests around New Zealand on suspicion of Terrorism are masking the real issue, says Republicans constitutional spokesman Wayne Hawkins.

“Let’s stop pretending we have Terrorists in New Zealand and call it what it always has been and is still now – Separatism.”

We do not live in 1840; we live in 2007, and are looking forward to a unified republic before 2017, that is governed under a Constitution, agreed to by the people.

This will make all citizens equal under the law regardless of their ethnic origin.

These arrests highlight the need to conclude the Waitangi Reconciliation, put the treaty into its historical context, so we can move forward.

“Working under an agreement signed between Maori chiefs and the English Crown is no longer appropriate for a population who is moving toward a modern democratic republic,” says Hawkins.
