Hyundai supports child cancer in NZ

Hyundai’s support for the Child Cancer Foundation continues its deep commitment to community groups in New Zealand.

Hyundai, 100% locally owned and operated, is proud to be launching the ‘Hyundai Wheels of Courage’ initiative which gets rolling on 7 November 2007. The Hyundai Wheels of Courage is a fundraising and awareness programme that will collect the handprints of all New Zealand children treated for childhood cancer in the one year period of March 2007 to March 2008.

The handprints will be displayed on a Hyundai Santa Fe that will eventually be auctioned off and 100% of all proceeds will go back to the Hyundai Beads of Courage appeal in 2008, the major Child Cancer Foundation yearly appeal to raise funds for the Foundation.

“The positive influence this programme has for the cancer patients and New Zealanders on a whole is very rewarding” comments Philip Eustace, Executive Director, Hyundai Motors NZ.

Hyundai aspires to raise awareness of child cancer within New Zealand. The ‘Hyundai Beads of Courage’ appeal is the main initiative which Hyundai and its entire dealer network proudly support. The programme allows children to use the beads as a way to communicate their experiences during and after treatment.
“Hyundai Wheels of Courage and Beads of Courage are exciting undertakings as we assist the Child Cancer Foundation in its valuable work.”

“Every Hyundai dealership throughout New Zealand will be involved in this endeavor, and we know that Hyundai owners and drivers will share our enthusiasm for the cause.”
