Kiwis – Support NZ’s Bid To Get On The World Monopoly
Board
Queenstown has taken a dramatic slide to number 18 on the Monopoly World Edition leaderboard and is in danger of falling out of the top 20. It previously held 12th position but has steadily been losing ground since last week and Hasbro is now calling on Kiwis to get voting at www.monopoly.co.nz (and be in to win a trip to any of the nominated cities, see www.monopoly.co.nz for details).
Hasbro’s global vote to find the 22 greatest cities in the world to be included on the first-ever Monopoly Here & Now: World Edition game board began on 23 January 2008 and finishes on 29 February 2008 – and Queenstown, New Zealand is the only Kiwi region on the list of 68 finalists. Montreal, Paris, London, Sydney and Cape Town are the current top five on the leaderboard while Queenstown lies between Tokyo and Athens.
We need Kiwis to support NZ and get voting at www.monopoly.co.nz every day from now until the 29th February 2008. The twenty cities that receive the most votes will become part of Monopoly history as the first cities selected to be on the World Edition game board while two squares have been reserved for the top two ranking Wild Card cities. Auckland is currently ranked at position 10 on the Wild Card vote.
It is estimated that over 100 million people will play Monopoly using the new World Edition game board in the next five years, raising the profile of NZ and demonstrating that NZ is a top tourist destination.
