Jigsaw Excited About Study That Will Suppport Troubled Youth

Jigsaw Family Services is delighted to see that there is to be a five year study on the best ways to support troubled youth.

The five year study will be led by Massey University and will follow 480 troubled youths to see what works to help youths, to positively change their lives.

Tau Huirama, Jigsaw CEO Strategic Relationships, believes this study is a great initiative.

“Jigsaw applauds Dr Jackie Sanders and her team for carrying out this study. There are children in New Zealand that get into trouble but with help from service providers and the love and support from their families, they can change for the better. ”

Mr Huirama is pleased that the study is going to speak to 1600 people from statutory agencies as well as non government organisations to see what works in helping children turn their lives around.

“Talking to such a large group of youth and service providers will help develop a greater understanding about what works with children today. This will give the study the best possible chance to find the solutions to help our children.”

Mr. Huirama can not emphasise enough how important it is to help all our youth turn things around.

“We have to do everything we can to support every child. Children are the most important thing we have in our communities and we must do everything we can to help them be the best they can be.
