A good start to what is a great Party
A good start to what is a great Party
Kiwi Party Leader Larry Baldock welcomed the news this morning from the Herald Digi Poll that the Kiwi Party had registered in the poll.
“After securing our official registration just one month ago in mid February 2008, this is a very good start” said Mr Baldock.
"To be ahead of two parties, United Future and the Progressives, and only .7 behind New Zealand First, all of which are represented by cabinet ministers in Government, is of course encouraging".
Mr Baldock, both a former MP and former Tauranga City Councillor says that the Party still has much to do.
“We still have to get over the 5% threshold and I have a big campaign to organise to win the seat of Tauranga”
“I was encouraged by the more than 12000 votes I received from voters in Tauranga in the regional Council elections, and I am intending to build on that with a strong campaign in this years General election.
I think this poll result reflects the fact that Kiwi Voters are looking for a new party to support that they can rely upon to respect their democratic voice.
My work in organising the petition to secure a referendum on the anti Smacking legislation to reclaim our democracy, and the continuous ongoing hard work of Gordon Copeland as an MP within Parliament, has given Kiwis a fresh hope that things could change” said Mr Baldock.
