Good For You Sue!

SOLO-NZ Press Release: Good For You Sue!
8 July, 2008

"Way to go Sue Bradford!" exults SOLO spokesman Lance Davey.

"I admit I was a vocal dissenter from the 'Bradford bill', the 'anti-smacking law,' the 'repeal of section 59' or whatever you want to call it. I was wrong though," admits Davey.

"As I read in the paper this morning that Itupa Julie Mikaio is to be charged with assaulting 3-year-old Benjamin Mikaio, who now lies in hospital in a critical condition 11 days after the assault with serious head injuries, internal bleeding and pelvic injuries, I can rest easy knowing that Ms Mikaio cannot, under the new law, resort to a 'reasonable force' defence.

"Good for you Sue, your highly effective law is 'working as intended.' Well done! Where would we, and the defenceless innocent children of Aotearoa, be without you?"
