The Stupidity of Stalinist Students

The recent challenge put out by students to students at Auckland University offering $3,700 for the successful citizen's arrest of Condoleezza Rice during her visit to New Zealand represented typical Stalinist stupidity by the far-Left student group, the Auckland University Students' Association, says SOLO-Youth spokesman Callum McPetrie.

The prize money was offered to any citizen who could arrest Dr. Rice for "overseeing the illegal invasion and continued occupation of Iraq."

"Far-Left students in New Zealand have had a long history of idiotic anti-US demonstrations," McPetrie observes.

"First, it was against America's presence in South Vietnam but never mind the North Vietnamese, backed by China and the Soviet Union. Then it was against American nuclear-powered or - armed ships in NZ waters ships that have NEVER presented any threat to New Zealanders. Now, it is against America's liberation of Iraq from Saddam Hussein.

"But do any of these students recognize that the increased US presence in Iraq since the troop surge has actually led to a huge decrease in violence in Iraq? Have they considered that the violence still occurring is committed, as it has been since the beginning, by fundamentalist Muslims, not Americans? Have they considered the effects of an Islamofascist victory in Iraq?

"The answer is yes and Islamofascist victory is what they want. That's why they run their smear campaign against America as always it's a campaign against capitalism, individual rights and Western Civilisation," McPetrie concludes.
