Labour breaks another law
Family Party leader Richard Lewis is questioning why authorities aren't taking action against Labour Party minister Trevor Mallard, who has failed to return lost or stolen National Party policy documents, but alternatively, is using them to his own end.
"This is a situation where a government minister has come into the possession of either lost or stolen policy documents. He knows the rightful owner, but instead of ensuring their return has used them for his own purposes. This constitutes the offence of 'receiving' or 'theft' under the Crimes Act and justifies a search of Mr Mallards office to see what else he's in unlawful possession of," says Mr Lewis.
He says it is no different than coming into possession of a vehicle that doesn't belong to you but you use it anyway, without the owners' knowledge or permission.
"It's this kind of conduct and double-standards that has reduced the reputation and credibility of politicians to an all time low," he added.
