Week 2 update
IT'S ALL IN THE COFFEE BEANS
A vigorous start to voting has seen over 32,000 votes cast as the Muffin Break Bean Poll completes its second week.
National has pulled more beans ahead gaining another 5% to sit at 45%, as the votes were tallied from around the country.
Labour is up slightly on last week at 30% and the Greens are unchanged at third on 11%. NZ First has lost a few beans currently on 4%, with votes for the "others" making up the remainder.
The spirit of the Election Bean Poll is being embraced right across the country with bean voting at record levels.
"We're excited with the "bean-breaking" speed votes are coming in. The bean poll seems to have galvanised people into thinking about how they might vote this election," says Muffin Break general manager Garry Croft.
In Winston Peter's Tauranga electorate, the Bean Poll has seen National streak ahead of NZ First, while neck and neck last week the gap now has National at 48%, Labour 22% and NZ First at 13%. Labour is still in front in Jim Anderton's area of Wigram with 45%, however Progressive at 27% have pulled away from National on 9%.
