Family Party commends All Black example

The Family Party is commending the example of All Black fullback Mils Muliaina who has withdrawn from the Bledisloe Cup rugby test against Australia, instead opting to stay at home to be with his new baby son.

Leader Richard Lewis says Mils sets a great example at a time when fatherhood needs positive role models.

“Often times sports celebrities are in the media for the wrong reasons when it comes to off-the-field activities. So it’s great to see a story like this with Mils making a big call to give his family priority over representative honours. I think it sends a really positive message about putting families first,” said Mr Lewis.

The Family Party has been campaigning on a pro-family policy platform with a strategic focus on winning key seats to remove the 5% threshold.
