Bean Votes Continue To Pour In

31 October 2008 Week 5 update

Bean Votes Continue To Pour In And Results Stand Strong

With the election just a week away the Muffin Break Election Bean Poll shows the gap between the two major parties remains unchanged with 13% still separating them.

With 90,000 votes cast to-date the latest Bean Poll has National maintained their lead with 45%, Labour is unchanged at 32%. The Greens continue to stay firm on 11% along with NZ First on 4%. Votes for the "others" make up the rest.

"It seems people are ready to have their say, Election Bean Polls at a number of stores around the country have been close to overflowing as the interest heightens in the upcoming election," says Muffin Break general manager Garry Croft.

The Bean Poll, which has been remarkably accurate in the previous two New Zealand elections and in Australia last year, allows customers at the 38 Muffin Break stores nationwide to vote - via coffee bean - for their preferred party.

Weekly Bean Poll results, including local results from each of the stores, are being posted on www.muffinbreak.co.nz
