Early Christmas Present for Youthline
Early Christmas Present for Youthline
Youth charity Youthline are taking a unique approach to Christmas fund raising, offering to split the proceeds of their 2009 calendar with other community groups as a way to support communities and young people.
The $10 calendar, featuring positive images of kiwi youth, is available for individuals and community groups to order. They can then nominate another charity or group of their choice to receive half the proceeds of the calendars they sell.
“We realise we are not the only organisation out there trying to make a difference and doing great work with young people and families, so the more we can work together, the more communities and young people will thrive,” says social enterprise manager Toni Hadlee.
Youthline are encouraging individuals, community groups and businesses to get on board with the calendar project.
“At $10 they make great stocking stuffers or corporate gifts and will also help Youthline and other local groups to be self sustainable and continue their work in 2009” says Toni.
Youthline began in 1970 and offer counselling services, information and referral, youth work services and training and leadership programmes to young people and families. Either via the phone, text, online or face to face Youthline makes over 400 000 people contacts every year and relies largely on grants, donations and sponsorship to provide services.
